Doha, July 2 (QNA) - Al Ahli Club announced today the signing of midfielder Ahmed Riyad from Al Duhail SC for three seasons.

The club said in a statement on its official social media accounts that Riyad, 22, will be a member of the team until the summer of 2028.

The statement added that the signing of the player was in accordance with the coach's technical vision and the club's need for a player with technical capabilities to strengthen Al Ahli's defense and midfield.

The statement explained that the player will join the team's training tomorrow in preparation for the 2025-2026 sports season.

Riyad is one of the most prominent players on the Qatar Olympic team and has previously played for the national youth team.

He also played with Al Khor Club for one season on loan.

Al Ahli finished the 2024-25 season in fourth place in the league standings.

The club will kick off its new season against Al Shamal on August 14 in the first round of the Qatar Football League.

It will also represent Qatar in the AFC Champions League 2 for the first time in its history. (QNA)
