LoginMuscat Stock Exchange Index Rises Over Past Week
Muscat, May 02 (QNA) - The main index of the Muscat Stock Exchange posted a weekly gain of around 210 points, recovering previous losses to close at 8,369 points, supported by gains in blue-chip stocks.
Sectoral indices recorded broad-based increases, led by the financial sector, which rose by 210 points, followed by the industrial sector up 123 points and the services sector up 84 points, while the Sharia index edged up 10 points.
The market capitalization of listed securities also recorded gains of OMR 351.3 million over the past week, reaching OMR 38.43 billion. Trading value rose by 25 percent to OMR 370.1 million, while the number of transactions exceeded 27,000. (QNA)
