Beijing, November 17 (QNA) - China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with his Syrian counterpart Asaad Al Shibani, who is on an official visit to the Chinese capital, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to deepen cooperation.

Wang said China is ready to gradually resume exchanges with Syria at various levels and welcomed Damascus' participation in the Belt and Road Initiative. He reiterated Beijing’s support for a Syria-led peace process, encouraging inclusive dialogue and efforts to advance reconstruction.

For his part, Al Shibani said Syria is looking to benefit from China's development experience and hopes its involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative will support reconstruction and sustainable development at home. (QNA)
