Doha, September 17 (QNA) - Aspetar Laboratory, Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, has secured re-accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for the seventh consecutive cycle, each spanning two years, reinforcing its position as a trusted diagnostic partner for elite international athletes. 
CAP accreditation is globally recognised as the gold standard in laboratory quality, ensuring technical excellence, accurate diagnostics, and patient safety.
These factors are particularly important for professional athletes, whose recovery and return-to-competition decisions depend on accurate and reliable test results.
Aspetar Laboratory is one of the first medical laboratories in Qatar to obtain CAP accreditation. It serves local and international athletes and conducts a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses to support sports medicine care in accordance with the highest international standards.

This accreditation cycle saw the implementation of a new electronic medical records system, the introduction of advanced analysers in the Biochemistry Department, and the expansion of the test menu with the addition of new tests to comprehensively cover the clinical needs of the hospital's athletes. These developments contributed to enhancing the laboratory's data accuracy and diagnostic capabilities.
The inspection visit conducted by the College of American Pathologists also commended Aspetar's comprehensive quality management system and the specialised clinical expertise of its staff, identifying them as key strengths that make Aspetar a preferred destination for international athletes seeking the latest and most advanced sports medicine services.
Aspetar was among the first laboratories in Qatar to obtain CAP accreditation and continues to set the benchmark for diagnostic excellence globally, attracting athletes from around the world who seek the highest standards of healthcare.
