Bogota, September 17 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale struck southwestern Colombia on Thursday.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake's epicenter was located 18 km southwest of the Colombian city of Sibate, at a depth of 58.8 km.
Colombian authorities have not yet reported any casualties or material damage resulting from the earthquake.
In 1999, Colombia was struck by a 6.1-magnitude earthquake which killed 1,185 people, left 700 others missing, injured at least 4,750, and displaced approximately 250,000 people; the city of Armenia was the hardest hit. (QNA)
