Anthropic Expands Claude's Learning Mode to All Users
Washington, August 17 (QNA) - Anthropic, the American artificial intelligence company, has announced the expansion of its 'Learning Mode' feature in the intelligent chatbot Claude, making it available to all users and developers.
Previously, since its launch in April, the feature was exclusively limited to the 'Claude for Education' plan.
The company stated that the Learning Mode allows users to interact with Claude in a novel way, where the chatbot guides the user to discover answers independently rather than providing them directly.
The feature can be disabled at any time and can be activated from the 'Modes' menu on the Claude.ai platform.
Anthropic added that the feature has also been integrated into 'Claude Code,' a section dedicated to programmers, and includes two distinct modes. The first is the Interpretive Mode, which displays summaries of Claude's decision-making processes during operation, helping users understand its steps. The second is a specialized version of the Learning Mode, where Claude occasionally pauses code writing and inserts a '#TODO' comment to prompt the user to complete a portion of the code themselves, aiming to enhance practical skills.
Drew Bent, Anthropic's Head of Education, noted that the idea originated in response to feedback from university students who expressed concerns about 'brain atrophy' resulting from copying content from chatbots without comprehension.
He added that the goal of Learning Mode is to assist users, whether beginners or experienced, in developing their abilities and analyzing code more deeply, enabling them to become more akin to software engineering managers capable of evaluating the quality of software projects. (QNA)
