Doha, March 16 (QNA) - The Lusail International Circuit organized an open cycling day in collaboration with the Qatar Cycling Federation, drawing over 400 participants. They were given a unique opportunity to cycle on a track that hosts Formula 1, MotoGP, and World Endurance Championship races.

The event was held in two main sessions, with the first running from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. At 9:00 PM, an individual time trial competition commenced, organized by the Qatar Cycling Federation and LIC during the holy month of Ramadan. This allowed registered cyclists to test their speed and skills on the prestigious track.

The results were as follows: In the men's individual time trial, Qatari Fahad Al Khater recorded the fastest time of 6 minutes and 32 seconds, narrowly beating Iranian Abdullah Masoumi, who placed second, and British Bevan James, who came third.

In the women's category, British Daniela Sposi achieved the best time of 8 minutes and 37 seconds, followed by Filipina Chelsea Sophia Periodico in second place, and Qatari Lolwah Al Marri securing third.

The Lusail International Circuit plans to continue hosting community events, including a women's-only cycling day scheduled for March 25 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. (QNA)
