Leeds United Signs Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
London, August 15 (QNA) - Leeds United announced Friday it has signed England international striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Everton.
The 28-year-old agreed to a three-year deal that runs through 2028, the club said in a statement on its official website. Calvert-Lewin becomes one of Leeds' key attacking additions ahead of the new season.
Calvert-Lewin began his professional career with the hometown club Sheffield United before moving through several teams, most notably Everton, where he made 239 appearances and scored 57 goals. He was a regular starter for the Merseyside club over multiple seasons.
His standout campaign came in 2020–21, when he scored 26 goals across competitions and earned call-ups to the England national team. Last season, he played in 26 matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
Leeds, newly promoted to the Premier League after two seasons in the Championship, is counting on Calvert-Lewin's experience to strengthen its attack and help secure top-flight survival. The team opens its league campaign Monday against Everton. (QNA)
