Manama, April 15 (QNA) - Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met Wednesday with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah to discuss the latest regional developments and current challenges.

They also discussed the efforts undertaken by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation and consolidate Gulf unity to maintain the security and stability of member states, protect their citizens and residents, and defend their interests.

Discussions also dealt with ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and prospects for political and diplomatic cooperation and coordination in regional and international forums. This cooperation is particularly relevant during Bahrain's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, serving the interests and common goals of both countries.

It also aims to bolster the GCC's efforts to garner support for its positions regarding Iran's aggression, the resulting loss of life and property, and the consequences of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the global economy, energy and food supplies, and international trade. (QNA)
