Gold Prices Fall as Investors Take Profits
Singapore, August 14 (QNA) - Gold prices fell today under pressure from profit-taking amid expectations that the US Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged at its upcoming September meeting.
Spot gold fell 0.5% to $4,330.37 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery declined 0.8% to $4,386.80.
Gold had climbed on Thursday to its highest level since June 5, before retreating 1.3% and erasing its weekly gains.
As for other precious metals, spot silver dropped 0.8% to $63.92 per ounce, platinum declined 1% to $1,700.60, while palladium fell 0.3% to $1,303.25. (QNA)
