Jordan Condemns Israeli Minister's Al Aqsa Incursion
Amman, May 13 (QNA) - Jordan strongly condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by an Israeli minister under police protection, saying it is a blatant violation of the site's historical and legal status and a dangerous escalation that must stop immediately.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah said the repeated incursions and provocative actions by Israeli extremists represent a clear breach of international law and an unacceptable attempt to alter the status quo at the holy site.
Jordan also warned against the consequences of continued provocations and called on the international community to take a firm stance compelling Israel to halt all illegal measures targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
The ministry reiterated that Al Aqsa Mosque, spanning 144 dunams, is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and remains under the sole authority of the Jerusalem Awqaf Administration of the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments. (QNA)
