Sixth Katara International Amber Exhibition Opens
Doha, January 13 (QNA) - The Katara Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) inaugurated the sixth edition of the Katara International Amber (Kahraman) Exhibition on Tuesday, in the presence of Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, and a number of ambassadors and officials. Thirteen countries are participating in the exhibition.
Featuring 82 pavilions, the exhibition showcases a wide array of luxury products and artifacts crafted from rare amber, including antique Polish rosaries and rare handicrafts.
In this context, Khalid Abdulrahim Al Sayed, Director of Events and Cultural Affairs at Katara and General Supervisor of the exhibition, affirmed that the Katara International Amber Exhibition has become a key destination for amber enthusiasts and those interested in its heritage and craftsmanship.
This aligns with Katara's mission to nurture and celebrate the diversity of human culture. He expressed his pride in the prestigious reputation the exhibition has achieved and its growing popularity year after year.
Fawaz Al Mulla of Dar Al Mulla Rosaries, the official sponsor of the exhibition, explained that their participation features a unique collection of antique Polish rosaries crafted from a single piece of amber, in addition to various amber accessories.
Mithaq Al-Maliki, a participant in the sixth edition of the Katara International Amber Exhibition and supervisor of the Dr. Kahrab pavilion, stated that the Katara International Amber Exhibition has become a leading specialized platform that brings together elite exhibitors and experts from various countries, thanks to its professional organization, high level of quality, and attention to detail. He emphasized that the exhibition reflects a distinguished image of the cultural and heritage movement in the State of Qatar.
Salah Mohammed, supervisor of the Kahraman Qatar pavilion, noted that the current edition of the exhibition is witnessing remarkable development in terms of the size of participation and the quality of exhibits. He pointed out that his participation has continued throughout the previous five editions, explaining that this edition is characterized by greater momentum and wider diversity, both in terms of the exhibitors and the types of pieces on display.
For his part, Mahmoud Junaid Shweihna, supervisor of the "Princes for Antique Amber" pavilion, affirmed that the exhibition has become a major destination for amber enthusiasts in Qatar, particularly those interested in antique amber and rare pieces.
He noted that the public possesses refined taste and a clear interest in specialized and vintage items, which is reflected in the increasing turnout at the exhibition.
It is worth mentioning that the Katara International Amber Exhibition 2026 is witnessing wide participation from leading exhibitors and experts in the field of amber from various countries, thus confirming its status as a leading annual platform that combines culture, heritage, and the economy.
