Doha, December 12 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation Katara concluded the Qatar International Art Festival 2025 (QIAF 2025) today with a grand art exhibition, the presentation of awards to the festival's winners, and the honoring of participating artists, organizers, and sponsors.
On this occasion, Director General of the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, expressed his pleasure at the success of this year's edition, which has firmly established itself as a leading platform that brings together artists from across the globe. He highlighted the distinctiveness of the participating artworks, marked by innovative perspectives and profound artistic experiences. He added that the festival embodies cultural diversity and the richness of human creativity, reaffirming Katara's commitment to supporting the arts and fostering cultural dialogue among peoples.
For her part, President of MAPS International and CEO of QIAF 2025, Rashmi Agarwal, praised the exceptional quality of this year's events, held under the theme of sustainability and innovation in art, and noted the participation of more than 500 artists representing over 83 countries.
Director of the British Council in Doha, Dr. Waseem Qutub, emphasized the continued partnership between the British Council and QIAF for the fourth consecutive year. He noted that this year's edition placed a strong focus on creative industries, supporting artists through opportunities to sell their work, participate in workshops, and engage with galleries. He also highlighted the art auctions held during the festival, describing them as an important step toward ensuring the sustainability of artistic practice.
Participating artists commended the festival's professional standards, affirming that it offers a global platform for artistic and cultural exchange and provides valuable opportunities to engage with a wide audience and fellow artists from around the world.
QIAF 2025 presented a diverse six-day program featuring art exhibitions, creative workshops, art auctions, musical and cultural performances, fashion shows, and interactive activities.
The seventh edition centered on sustainability and innovation in the arts, offering visual artists significant opportunities to connect with galleries, promote and sell their work, and strengthen their presence on the international art scene.
In a related context, the cultural and artistic events accompanying the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 continue at the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, attracting large audiences of various nationalities and age groups, who enthusiastically engaged with a rich program of activities celebrating Arab identity, language, and heritage.
