Doha, May 11 (QNA) - Qatar Airways announced its expansion in the Americas with the launch of new flight operations to Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogota, Colombia, commencing from July 22, 2026.

The airline said in a statement on Monday that the service represents a significant milestone for Qatar Airways, which will become the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela, and the first airline to operate flights from West Asia to Caracas and Bogota. This expansion underscores the airline's commitment, announced in 2025, to strengthening global connectivity for the region.

Qatar Airways will operate two weekly flights to Caracas and Bogota, further enhancing connectivity to, and from, the Americas. The flight schedule has been designed to provide smooth onward connections through Hamad International Airport (HIA) to key markets including Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, the statement noted, adding that this offers passengers greater flexibility and seamless transfer options across the airline's global network.

The statement pointed out that this addition of Caracas and Bogota marks the 15th and 16th destinations in the Americas served by Qatar Airways, indicating that the airline began serving South America in 2010 with its inaugural flight to Brazil's Sao Paulo.

Qatar Airways is furthering global connectivity by rebuilding its network to over 160 global destinations this summer. (QNA)
