Bogota, August 10 (QNA) - A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia Monday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 115 kilometers, with its epicenter located near San Jose del Palmar in the Choco region.
Local authorities said that at least 20 people were killed as a result, while others remain trapped beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings.
They added that the earthquake, which struck an area along the country's Pacific coast as well as the city of Pereira, caused extensive damage.
The tremor was felt by residents of the capital, Bogota, and in areas extending as far as Venezuela. (QNA)
