Abu Dhabi, March 01 (QNA) - The United Arab Emirates has announced the closure of its embassy in Tehran and the withdrawal of its ambassador and all diplomatic staff, following the "blatant Iranian missile attacks" targeting its territory.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying that "these hostile attacks against civilian sites, including residential areas, airports, ports, and service facilities, endangered innocent civilians in a serious and irresponsible escalation and constitute a flagrant violation of national sovereignty, as well as a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations".

The ministry emphasized that the decision reflects the UAE's firm stance against any aggression threatening its security and sovereignty.

It noted that the ongoing aggressive and provocative behavior undermines prospects for de-escalation, pushing the region toward highly dangerous paths that threaten regional and international security, energy safety, and global economic stability. (QNA)
