Doha, May 06 (QNA) - The ‘Horses Through Time and Space’ exhibition by Iraqi artist Dr. Raouf Al Attar opened Tuesday at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Building 47.

The exhibition, running until May 13, features 30 paintings in black, white and gray color palettes, featuring Arabian horses and aspects of Qatari culture and history.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the General Manager of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti highlighted the exhibition's unique flair and the artist's approach by using unconventional color choices and leather instead of traditional canvas.

Dr. Al Sulaiti praised the artist's focus on Qatari heritage and history and relations to Arabian horses.

For his part, Dr. Al Attar explained to QNA that his artworks highlight the nobility of Arabian horses throughout Qatari history by inserting them in the country’s notable landmarks, thus crossing different times and spaces.

Dr. Al Attar, who teaches at the Cihan University-Erbil in Iraq, has participated in more than 170 local and international exhibitions, held 29 solo exhibitions and won several awards in the art field. (QNA)
