Doha, May 29 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) has launched the Dhul-Hijjah Campaign for the 1445 AH - 2024 season, aiming to benefit approximately 3.5 million people across the globe.
The campaign, with the support of the generous people of Qatar during the month of Dhul-Hijjah, seeks to distribute sacrificial meat within and outside Qatar. Additionally, it aims to gather support for implementing various developmental projects worldwide and carrying out relief interventions in Palestine and Gaza.
On this occasion, Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, CEO's assistant for the Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity, called on everyone to take advantage of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, which are considered the best days for competing in good deeds, in accordance with the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) "There are no days in which a good deed is more pleasing to Allah than these ten days." Fakhroo urged the benefactors of Qatar to quickly donate to the campaign to help as many people as possible through the sacrificial meat distribution project and other humanitarian and development initiatives. He indicated that the goal is to bring joy to the hearts of internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, and those in need, easing their suffering by meeting their essential needs, positively impacting their lives, and maintaining their dignity.
He sincerely thanked the donors for their continued trust in Qatar Charity and their support for its past campaigns to aid the needy and those affected by crises around the world.
Under the slogan Your Udhiyah, a Meal for Those in Need', Qatar Charity seeks to provide around 59,000 Udhiyah (sacrificial animals) in 40 countries, including Qatar. This effort revives a significant tradition and strengthens the principles of solidarity and compassion. With the support of the generous people of Qatar, the campaign aims to benefit approximately 1.1 million people from Udhiyah.
In a related effort, the Udhiyah project within Qatar aims to distribute 4,500 Udhiyah to approximately 50,000 persons to bring them joy during Eid.
The sacrificial meat will be distributed to sponsored orphans and their families, low-income families, workers, various expatriate families, people with special needs, and students. The distribution will take place through Widam Food, in collaboration with several communities, including Arab and Asian, as well as Qatar Charity Centers for Community Development.
Outside Qatar, the campaign aims to distribute the meat of over 54,000 Udhiyah. It is expected to benefit more than one million people across 39 African, Asian, and European countries.
The campaign focuses on regions and countries experiencing exceptional circumstances or natural disasters, such as Palestine, Sudan, and Yemen, in addition to Syrian IDPs and refugees.
The meat of sacrificial animals will be distributed in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Palestine, Tanzania, Niger, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Ethiopia, Montenegro, Indonesia, India, Lebanon, South Africa, the Philippines, Malaysia, Yemen, Chad, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Turkey, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan, Kenya, Djibouti, Mauritania, Togo, Benin, and Burundi.
The campaign allows donations to support various development projects such as digging wells, providing clean water, supporting healthcare initiatives, building mosques, and empowering disadvantaged groups economically. These projects aim to address water scarcity, provide medical care to patients in need, ensure a comfortable environment for congregational prayers in mosques, and help the needy become financially independent.
