Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial that Qatar and Nepal are connected by a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding covering various fields, including economic, commercial, labor and sports, in addition to cooperation in agriculture, food security and aviation services. These were further strengthened on Wednesday by the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding and cooperation between the two governments in the fields of education, scientific research, youth, sports, culture, arts, news exchange, training and diplomatic education.
The newspaper also highlighted the official talks session that brought together HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister of friendly Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The talks addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them, as well as several regional and international issues of common interest.
These talks mark the beginning of a new phase in the relationship between our two friendly countries, a relationship that dates back more than 40 years, as diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on Jan. 21, 1977, Al-Watan added.
The newspaper concluded by saying that Qatar has been keen to build a solid network of foreign relations and has worked to strengthen these relations through communication and openness to various brotherly and friendly countries and peoples and to develop cooperation with them in various fields, in a way that serves common interests, goals and aspirations. The visit and talks of HH the Amir in Nepal mark the third and final stop of his Asian tour, reaffirming this direction and Qatars keenness to strengthen and develop relations with the countries that His Highness visited, and to open new horizons for them, especially in the fields of economy, trade, energy and investment.
In an article by its editor-in-chief, Al-Arab newspaper said that an Asian diplomatic tour initiated by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, included visits to the Philippines, Bangladesh and Nepal, aimed at holding joint talks and signing agreements with the leaders of those countries, strengthen ties of friendship, cooperation and joint work in the fields of energy, security, investments and infrastructure, and to resolve international economic, security, climate and health crises and issues of common interest.
This tour reinforced the State of Qatar's accession to the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2022, on the sidelines of the opening of the 55th session of the Association in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh.
At the end of its editorial, Al-Arab affirmed that under the wise leadership of HH the Amir, Qatar is exerting every effort to secure a distinguished position for itself among the international actors, aiming to achieve security, prosperity and well-being for humanity. Doha has proven itself worthy of this position through its humanitarian, investment and political efforts, as well as its attempts to build relationships that serve common interests, manage crises, and pursue options that benefit Qatar, friendly nations, and all peoples of the world.
The Peninsula newspaper said in its editorial that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani left Kathmandu on Wednesday concluding his three-nation Asia tour to Nepal, Bangladesh and the Philippines. The tour was a resounding success as HH the Amir was bestowed a very warm welcome and the talks were all fruitful and many agreements and MoUs were signed in various sectors.
The newspaper said in its editorial titled "Fruitful tour " that HH the Amirs leadership was lauded by all for providing a high standard of living for the Qatari people, achieving one of the highest per capita incomes and launching Qatar National Vision-2030 to transform Qatar into an advanced society. All the leaders were of high praise for Qatars active role in mediation in various global conflicts.
All three Asian countries HH the Amir visited provided workforces to the Gulf region including Qatar in big numbers and their contribution were highlighted by HH the Amir during the visit to these countries. HH praised the Filipino, Bangladeshi and Nepalese communities in the State of Qatar for their effective contribution to the development process in the country, The Peninsula noted.
The newspaper concluded by saying that this three-nation tour will bolster Qatars relations and strategic partnerships with the Philippines, Bangladesh and Nepal manifested through the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields. The official talks and partnership agreements will strengthen the economic relations between the nations and will elevate bilateral cooperation. (QNA)
