QSL Announces Details of EQSL 2nd Edition
Doha, April 24 (QNA) - The Qatar Stars League (QSL) announced Thursday details of the second edition of the Electronic Qatar Stars League (EQSL), organized in collaboration with the Qatar eSports Federation.
The tournament will feature 12 teams and will take place from Apr. 27 to Apr. 30. The draw resulted in Group A with Qatar SC, Umm Salal, Al Ahli, Al Arabi, Al Shamal, Al Wakrah, and Group B with Al Rayyan, Al Khor, Al Shahaniya, Al Sadd, Al Duhail, Al Gharafa.
The competition will follow a one-on-one format, with four teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals, and culminating in the championship final.
The Qatar Stars League confirmed that the tournament will be played on FC 25, the popular game developed by EA Sports, with competing teams and players vying for the championship title and qualification to the 2025 eSports World Cup.
Executive Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communications at QSL Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari emphasized that the initiative, launched last season, reflects the rapid growth of eSports and aims to create new opportunities for the league and club partners to enter this sector.
Ahmed Al Mughaisib, Marketing Specialist at QSL, stated that the Electronic Qatar Stars League (EQSL) is paving the way for the future of eSports in Qatar by providing a competitive platform that merges football passion with gaming excitement.
He added that they are proud to host an event that highlights local talent and strengthens Qatar’s position as a regional hub for eSports development. (QNA)
