Doha, January 24 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) discussed ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation with the Republic of Mali, particularly in industry and investment, as well as underscoring the pivotal role of the private sector in developing bilateral trade exchanges.
This came during the meeting of the Acting General Manager of the Qatar Chamber Ali bu Sherbak Al Mansori with a trading delegation from the Republic of Mali led by President of the Malian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Madiou Simpara, in the presence of Ibrahim Ahamadou Toure, as representative of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Mali, Vice President of the Mali Chamber of Commerce Cisse Ajita Diaw and Mali Chamber of Commerce Secretary-General Mahamoudou Sanogo.
Speaking at the meeting, the Acting General Manager of the Qatar Chamber praised the close relations between both friendly nations, emphasizing that their current trade volume is still below aspirations. He noted the necessity for extra efforts to develop it in line with the strength of such relations.
Al Mansori stressed the Chamber's eagerness to enhance cooperation with the Malian side, encouraging Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Mali. He highlighted Mali as one of the most attractive destinations for investment in Africa, particularly in sectors like agriculture, food security, and mining, expressing his hope that this meeting would culminate in enhancing cooperation relations between the business sectors in both countries.
For his part, President of the Malian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Madiou Simpara extended an invitation to QC members to participate in the International Exhibition of Products scheduled to be held in Mali this year. Simpara highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the chambers of Mali and Qatar in 2022. He expressed the Malian Chamber's eagerness to strengthen cooperative relations with the Qatar Chamber across all fields, contributing to the development of bilateral trade.
He emphasized that the exhibition offers an excellent opportunity for hosting bilateral meetings and exploring investment prospects in Mali, particularly in the agriculture, mining, and industry sectors. He noted that Qatari companies could showcase their products and industries, promoting the available investment opportunities in Qatar during the exhibition. (QNA)
