West Asia Table Tennis Club Championship Wraps Up

Doha, November 16 (QNA) - The West Asia Table Tennis Club Championship, hosted in Doha at the Abdullah bin Suhaim Hall of the Qatar SC, concluded Saturday after four days of thrilling competition. The tournament featured 12 men's teams and five women's teams.
The final day of the competition was intense and exciting, with the men's final culminating in a victory for Al-Ittihad Club of Saudi Arabia, who won the title after defeating Bahrain SC 3-1.
Saar SC of Bahrain claimed third place, earning the bronze medal, while Qatar SC also received a shared third place and the bronze.
The awards ceremony was attended by Khalil Al Muhannadi, President of the Qatar, Arab, and Asian Table Tennis Federations, and HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Suhaim Al-Thani, President of Qatar SC, who presented the championship trophy to Al-Ittihad Club. Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, Secretary General of the Qatar Table Tennis Federation, and Thani Al Zar'a, Member of the Board of Directors of both the Qatar and West Asia Table Tennis Federations, handed out the silver medal to Bahrain SC and the bronze medals to Qatar SC and Saar SC.
In the women's competition, which concluded yesterday, Kuwait's Al-Fatat SC claimed the title with 8 points, achieving 4 victories. Orthodox Club of Jordan took second place and the silver medal with 7 points from 3 wins and 1 loss. Qatar SC secured third place with 6 points, earning the bronze, while Al Arabi SC tied for third, also winning a bronze medal with 5 points. Al Orooba Club finished fifth with 4 points.
Ahmed Khalil Al Muhannadi, Secretary-General of the West Asia Table Tennis Federation and Tournament Director, expressed his satisfaction with the competition's high technical and organizational standards. (QNA)
