Doha, April 10 (QNA) - The Shura Council expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation forces' storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as the assault on worshipers in it and the prevention of entry to it, and it also denounced the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.
During its regular weekly meeting on Monday at Tamim bin Hamad Hall under the chairmanship of HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, the Council said that the continuation of Israeli violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque brings more violence, pointing out that the timing of this attack in the holy month of Ramadan is a clear provocation and a dangerous escalation by the occupation forces.
The Council called on the parliaments and councils of the Islamic world to condemn these attacks, not to stand idly by, and to put more pressure to prevent the continuation of such attacks, adding it is the responsibility of the international community to prevent these assaults on Muslims and their sanctities, noting the necessity of not neglecting the legal status of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
During the meeting, the Council approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Customs Law promulgated by Law No. 40 of 2002 as received from the esteemed government after reviewing the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee's report on it and the members of the Council's discussion of the provisions of the draft law.
The Shura Council reviewed the report of its delegation's participation in the preparatory meeting for the 2nd Parliamentary Summit against Hunger and Malnutrition that was held via video conferencing technology in November last year.
It also reviewed the report of its participation in a parliamentary symposium held via video conferencing technology in December last year under the title "Creating a safe cyberspace for democracy." (QNA)
