In its editorial titled "Qatari Efforts to Halt Aggression," Al Raya continued to emphasize Qatar's call for international coordination to halt the ongoing aggression and enter into a political solution that ensures the safe return of hostages and prevents the region from the danger of escalation spilling over to neighboring countries.
The newspaper stated that despite challenges and difficulties, Qatar has remained engaged in international efforts for mediation and sustaining the entry of humanitarian aid. Qatari officials have toured the world and participated in every forum that could contribute to de-escalation. Qatari diplomacy has rallied global support for the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza.
Al Raya warned against the occupation's pursuit of a large-scale military operation in Rafah, the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, despite warnings issued by international humanitarian agencies of an expected bloodbath and massacres by the criminal occupation.
The newspaper called on the UN Security Council to intervene and fulfill its responsibilities because the occupation's action threatens security and peace in the region and the world. The situation would cross all red lines, especially since more than half of Gaza's population is currently in Rafah, with many of them trapped near the border fence, living in temporary tents. Doctors and relief workers are struggling to provide basic aid and prevent the spread of diseases.
In its editorial titled "Arab Final," Al Watan newspaper asserted that with the two Arab teams reaching the final stage of the current edition, Arab teams have appeared in the final match of the continental championship in 13 editions. An Arab team has appeared in the final of the Asian Cup in eleven previous occasions, with Arab teams winning the title six times, aiming for a seventh title today.
The paper added that Qatar seeks its second consecutive title, while Jordan aims to continue rewriting its history in the Asian Cup during the current edition, having reached the semifinals for the first time and then the final.
Al Watan pointed out that Qatar and Jordan have showcased remarkable performances throughout various stages of the competition, rightfully earning their places in the final after overcoming significant challenges and defeating teams that were unusually considered favorites for the title.
Regardless of the outcome of today's match, Qatar has managed to deliver an exceptional edition of the tournament, from iconic stadiums to outstanding organization. The teams and football fans have experienced unforgettable days in Doha, where every effort was made to provide comfort and enjoyment to everyone, with a range of accompanying events that will remain a significant mark in the history of Asian and international football.
