Damascus, September 24 (QNA) - Syrian experts, analysts, and academics affirmed that the speech delivered by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, carried clear and impactful messages reflecting Qatar's firm stance on regional and international issues.

In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), they pointed out that the speech was deep, combining courage in the face of aggression, commitment to international principles, and continuous support for Arab peoples. It also demonstrated that Qatar is steadfast in its regional and international leadership role, based on the values of justice, sovereignty, and fairness, and that any attempts to influence this role or mislead public opinion will not deter Doha from its ongoing commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.

In this context, writer and political analyst Bassam Al Suleiman noted that HH the Amir did not forget the wounds of Syria, Lebanon, and Sudan, making his country's voice a platform for them, adding that the speech also carried a clear vision of the future with the mention of Qatar's bid to the Olympic Games in 2036, reflecting that the bombing will not weaken Qatar's determination to advance its development plans and that Doha continues to pursue its goals of development and prosperity.

For his part, Secretary-General of the Syrian National Movement Dr. Zakaria Malahifji, pointed out that HH the Amir's speech embodied Qatar's firm position on just causes and affirmed its active role and commitment to international legitimacy, impartial mediation, and the defense of human values in the face of increasing global disorder.

In a statement to QNA, Malahifji said that HH the Amir placed the international community before its moral and legal responsibility regarding the Israeli aggression on Gaza. He condemned the violation of Qatar's sovereignty, stressing that a country like Qatar, which strives for peace and exerts efforts to end wars, should not be met with aggression or misinformation.

He noted that the speech focused on the consequences of the continued aggression on Gaza and the international community's tolerance of Israeli violations, warning that such silence would only lead to further destabilization. He also highlighted Qatar's positive roles in various issues, including support for the Syrian people, backing Lebanon in its political transition, repeated calls to end the conflict in Sudan, and the emphasis on the importance of sports as a bridge for peace through Qatar's bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games.

Malahifji considered the speech balanced, firm, and profound, combining moral and political positioning with a constructive and realistic approach. He said it delivered a clear message to the world that Qatar will remain a voice for justice and an active partner in building peace.

In turn, writer and political analyst Dr. Basel Orfali said in a statement to QNA that HH the Amir exposed the falsehood of the Israeli narrative that portrays itself as the only democracy in the region, proving to the international community that it is in fact an aggressive state that attacks its neighbors, especially those working toward peace. He praised His Highness' appreciation of the official and popular solidarity with Qatar, which was clearly demonstrated by the convening of an emergency Arab and Islamic summit in Doha.

For his part, legal and political expert Firas Haj Yehia, said that HH the Amir's speech contained clear and comprehensive messages, devoid of any rhetoric. It reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and showcased Qatar as a major, influential state that plays a vital mediation role, successfully securing the release of hostages and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, in partnership with Egypt and the United States. Yehia noted that Doha will not back down in the face of smear campaigns, reflecting the independence of Qatari decision-making.

Regarding Syria, the legal and political expert noted that the speech carried a clearly positive tone, emphasizing that Syria is entering a new phase and that Qatar will spare no effort in supporting the country to successfully navigate its transitional period. He also recalled that Doha was among the few countries that remained committed to the Syrian cause, even when it seemed to have fallen off the international political agenda.

Haj Yehia explained that linking politics with sports and culture gave the speech a comprehensive and balanced approach, stressing that Qatar is a civilizational project, not merely a state seeking political influence. He added that HH the Amir's speech was marked by comprehensiveness, relevance, and an ethical commitment.

For his part, researcher in administrative and economic affairs Eng. Ali Hallak indicated that HH the Amir's speech was not merely a diplomatic address, but a political statement reflecting Qatar's role as an effective mediator in the region.

In his statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Hallak explained that His Highness dedicated a significant portion of his speech to addressing the Israeli attack on Doha, presenting it as an assault on a mediating state committed to peace. He affirmed that Qatar will continue its mediation efforts in partnership with Egypt and the US, and expressed Doha’s appreciation for the international solidarity it has received.

He added that the speech contained a fundamental critique of the Israeli narrative, clarifying that Israel is not a democratic state surrounded by a hostile environment, but rather an entity hostile to its surroundings. He pointed to the unified Arab and Islamic stance in supporting Qatar, highlighting its clear position as a steadfast peacemaker.

Hallak stressed that the speech was not limited to Palestine and Qatar, but also addressed other important regional issues. Regarding Syria, HH the Amir welcomed the new phase the country is undergoing, reiterating Qatar's continued support for the Syrian people to achieve stability and development, and calling on the international community to assist Syria in overcoming the transitional period. His Highness also referred to positive developments in Lebanon, reaffirming Qatar’s ongoing support for the Lebanese people and leadership. Addressing the Sudanese crisis, which His Highness described as the most severe humanitarian crisis, he urged all parties to prioritize national interest. (QNA)
