Argentina Reach Semi-finals after Beating Netherlands

Doha, December 09 (QNA) - Argentina qualified for the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 after beating their Dutch counterpart on penalties 4-3 following a 2-2- draw at the end of normal time and extra time in their exciting match at Lusail Stadium in the quarter-finals today.

The Argentine national team will play Croatia in the next round. Croatia defeated Brazil on penalties 4-2 after a 1-1 draw at the end of normal playing time and extra time.

The Dutch failed to score their first two penalties in the shootout, while Argentina were flawless until they missed their fourth. Lautaro Martinez scored their final spot kick and kept Argentina's World Cup dreams alive. (QNA)
