Doha, December 03 (QNA) - The Netherlands became the first country into the World Cup quarter-finals as they beat the United States 3-1 at the Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday.

Denzel Dumfries, Memphis Depay and Daley Blind scored for the Netherlands in the 10, 45+1 and 81st minutes of the match, while substitute Haji Wright scored the only goal for the USA in the 75th minute.

In the quarterfinals, Netherlands will play Argentina or Australia, who are playing their Round of 16 match later this evening.

Dutch Depay gave his team the lead in the 10th minute, before his teammate Depay doubles the score just before the end of the first half. After trailing 0-2 in the first half, USA reduced the gap through Haji Write who scored in the 75th minute. Only six minutes later, in the 81st minute, Netherlands secured their place in the quarterfinals when Daley Blind scored his team's third goal. (QNA)
