Doha, December 22 (QNA) - beIN Media Group welcomed 20 refugees from seven countries in the Middle-East, Africa, and Central Asia on a special tour to the group's headquarters in Doha.
The visit was organized by Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity, in cooperation with the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was also done with support from Qatar Fund for Development, beIN Sports, and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. The aim of the visit was to enhance the culture of peace and social integration, in addition to shedding light on the role of support in alleviating the struggles of impacted nations and supporting the mental health of refugees, by sharing the joyful atmosphere of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 for the first time in the region.
Refugees from Turkey, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Yemen and Iraq were able to see beIN's state-of-the-art studios and the facilities that hold the rights to broadcast sporting events and offer a variety of programmes. Refugees between the ages of 16 and 21 were invited to Doha by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, during their time in Doha, were also able to attend the third-place match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar between Morocco and Croatia.
