Rabat, December 21 (QNA) - Morocco national team star Achraf Hakimi said he was very pleased for the grand reception of the national team in the capital Rabat after the outstanding participation in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and securing the fourth place in the tournament. In press remarks, the Paris Saint-Germain player said that they were proud of the moments they enjoyed in Qatar and Morocco. It was the best end to that dream they have had in the tournament - a dream that was completed with the great reception in Morocco, he said, hoping they will make Moroccans happy in the challenges ahead.
He added that they did not think that their achievement would have such a great impact, and that they were pleased to see all Moroccan people happy about it, and that gives them strength and impetus to face the coming challenges.
Morocco wrote history in the FIFA World Qatar 2022 after qualifying for the semi-finals as the first Arab and African team to reach this stage.
Morocco succeeded in topping their group, which included Croatia, Belgium and Canada in the group stage, and then eliminated Spain and Portugal, before losing in the semi-finals to France, and in the third-place play-off to Croatia to finish in third place. (QNA)
