Doha, December 18 (QNA) - Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has been awarded the Golden Glove Award after helping Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina conceded only 7 goals, while in three matches he kept his net clean.

Martinez said that the final match against France was very difficult, and Argentina team suffered a lot, stressing that winning this cup is his dream and what he sought for throughout his life.

In the 26 matches Martinez played with Argentina, the team lost a single match, which was in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 against the Saudi national team (2-1).

Martinez started his career playing for Independiente's youth side, he was invited to trial at Arsenal shortly after his 17th birthday and was offered a youth contract. (QNA)
