Doha, December 15 (QNA) - The Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ahmed Ould Yahya, confirmed that Qatar impressed the world with the perfect organization of an exceptional edition of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which the region is hosting for the first time in its history.
The Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said, in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the Qatari organization exceeded expectations and made the task difficult for those who host the next edition of the World Cup, adding that the Qataris, with intelligence and wisdom, planned well to host the World Cup and achieved technical and organizational success and brought joy to all the Arab countries that followed the tournament, which gave them pride, because the tournament was organized in the name of all Arabs.
He praised the honorable results achieved by the Moroccan national team in the tournament, for its success in defeating the most prestigious international teams, to be able to reach the semi-finals as the first African and Arab team to qualify for this round in the history of the tournament that was launched in 1930.
He pointed out that the Moroccan national team has proven the ability of African teams to compete strongly in the largest tournaments and to provide a technical level that confirms the development of football in the continent.
He explained that the Moroccan national team, despite the loss in the match it played yesterday against France, the best team in the world in the semi-finals of the World Cup, was a strong match, and presented a wonderful match confirming its ability to obtain third place in this exceptional tournament.
He noted that the World Cup in Qatar is the best in the history of the competition in terms of the quality of the organization and its distinction with many advantages that will only be available in Qatar in terms of the proximity of the distances and the beauty of the stadiums, which enabled football fans for the first time in the history of the World Cup to attend two matches in one day because of the close distance between the tournament stadiums and the ease of transportation in Qatar.
He thanked the organizing committee of the tournament and everyone who stood with the Moroccan national team, which presented a tournament that will be immortal throughout history and was able to unite the Arab nation that strongly supported it in all its matches. (QNA)
