Doha, December 11 (QNA) - Coach of France's national football team Didier Deschamps announced on Sunday that he decided to stay in his position for another two years, after successfully leading the French national team to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The French Le Parisien newspaper said on Sunday that Deschamps will remain the coach of the French national football team, after having achieved the required goal in his current contract, which is qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 semi-finals.

The paper said that Deschamps responded to the aspiration of President of French Football Federation (FFF) Noel Le Graet, who welcomed the continuation of the journey that began 10 years ago.

The French newspaper also indicated that due to no opposition front to his continuation, Deschamps decided to remain in his position until Euro 2024.

Didier Deschamps assumed the task of coaching the French national team, succeeding his compatriot Laurent Blanc in the summer of 2012. (QNA)
