Doha, November 08 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation (QF) held a discussion panel at Multaqa (Education City Students Center) to discuss the role of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in helping to catalyze social change for persons with disabilities and make it the most accessible tournament to date.

The Director of Community Engagement and World Cup Legacy at Qatar Foundation (QF) Alexandra Chalat said: "QF has always prioritized accessibility as a key component of its mission to unlock potential and education through its schools, focused programs, facilities, and infrastructure." Chalat added that QFs Ability Friendly Program provide opportunities in sports for youth with different abilities. She added: "QF has been developing and delivering the training for the accessibility volunteers, which has reached more than 200 people.

They will be directing and supporting fans, visitors and residents alike on their fan journeys," Another speaker at the panel was Master Coach at Generation Amazing Michael Richardson who emphasized what it takes to make a tangible impact. "It's not just about speaking of accessibility or making sure that people have access to a football field, it's much more than that.

It's creating access to opportunities, time, and resources." "It's the role of Generation Amazing to almost be the embodiment of the accessibility vision and the SCs commitment to ensuring an accessible World Cup tournament and everything around it," pointed out Richardson.

Qatar Foundation has launched a comprehensive accessibility guide "The Qatar for All guide" as part of the foundations efforts to promote social inclusion. It includes landmarks, events and paths that can be accessed throughout Qatar, to help all fans of different abilities experience and enjoy the World Cup.
