Doha, November 26 (QNA) - Former Qatari team goalkeeper Hussein Al Khawaja, expressed his optimism about the team's ability to make a positive appearance in its upcoming final match against the Dutch national team next Tuesday at Al Bayt Stadium at the end of its campaign in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, calling on the team's technical staff to show more offensive and enthusiasm.
In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Khawaja said that it could have been better than it was, for Qatar national team in the matches of Ecuador and Senegal.
He added that coach Felix Sanchez made several mistakes during the first match against Ecuador, as well as against Senegal in the second, whether at the appropriate squad formation or even the alternative options.
He explained that the next confrontation against the Netherlands will have to change the image, as there will be no pressure, and the result of the draw will delight the fans who were dissatisfied with the team in the first two matches.
Al Khawaja stressed the Qatari team's need for a high profile coach in the coming period, as well as the use of an assistant national cadre in order to make the players selection process more comprehensive.
The former Qatari national team goalkeeper nominated both the Brazilian and Spanish national teams to win the World Cup in light of their good performances in the opening matches, but he seemed confident of the possibility of new surprises.
To conclude his statements to (QNA), Al Khawaja pointed out that the Moroccan team is doing well despite its opening tie against the Croatian team, wishing the Moroccan team the qualification, while he hoped that the Saudi team would succeed in making up for its first loss against the Polish team and be able to qualify to the next round during its final confrontation in the group stage against Mexico, adding that the Tunisian team is also required to win its last match.
