Doha, November 26 (QNA) - President of the Qatar Golf Association (QGA) Hassan Al Naimi said that the Doha Golf Club Course has become an ideal destination for former football star's whose countries are participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and who visit the Club to enjoy playing golf.
In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Naimi said that Doha Golf Club has hosted many sports, entertainment and musical activities since the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He added that there are many former international football stars participating in special golf competitions in Doha led by Argentine Gabriel Batistuta, Dutch footballers Ruud Gullit and Nigel de Jong, English footballers Alan Shearer, Lee Dixon and Jermaine Jenas, Welshman Ryan Giggs, and others.
Al Naimi revealed that approximately 17 events started on November 22 at the Golf Club area during the World Cup period with the participation of many international music stars.
The QGA President stressed that Qatar dazzled the world with an unprecedented historic World Cup, as all those who watched the opening of previous editions were impressed by the opening of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, noting that fans are currently enjoying all that related to the World Cup including matches, accompanying events and ease of movement.
Al Naimi said that the interaction of fans with the events of the World Cup inside and outside the stadiums was an eloquent response to those who doubted Qatar's success in hosting the world's largest sports tournament. Therefore, there is no one talking about this anymore because these skeptics are now surprised and enjoy watching high-level matches as well as other details related to the accompanying events.
