Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed his team's readiness to face his Mexican counterpart on Saturday at Lusail Stadium in the second round of the third group at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
"We are thinking about the Mexico game, the way we played will be similar to the previous game against Saudi Arabia and we will not change our way because of the defeat, we will focus on the attack to win against Mexico and we will determine the list of players in the squad," Scaloni said at today's press conference for the match.
He added: "We will not change the players tomorrow. After that loss we felt anxious, and we had to forget it and we had to hold up and go through to a later stage. Maybe we'll change some things for tomorrow's game. We have come together; our players have trained well and are fully ready for the game. " He pointed out that Mexico are a great team and offensive team with a good coach and said: "But we have our unique way of playing and it will not change. We have lost our opening game and we must stand up. There is a public pressure that we have on our shoulders and our electorate is determined to give everything that he has until the last moment to correct this situation and we must show that we deserve to be here in the World Cup. " "Lionel Messi is ready for tomorrow's game more than ever and he is good physically and mentally and we need every player in the team." He said: "I don't follow the press after the game even after the win and today I wanted the fans to know how much effort we have made, we are confident in our ability, tomorrow's game is important, and they all count on us, and we must focus and move forward." In turn, Argentina's Lautaro Martinez said about the previous clash against Saudi Arabia: "We were very excited, and we were waiting to win our opening match against Saudi Arabia, but we were defeated by mistakes we made and now we forget about that defeat and prepare to face Mexico, analyze their performance and seek to win." He said: "The Mexican team will enter tomorrow's game with the ambition of winning and will provide a strong response and we will face it ferociously. Now we must think in a positive way -- we are united, and we know how to rise to the challenges and strive to be united". (QNA)
