Doha,November 25 (QNA) - The captain of the Qatari team Hassan Khalid Hassan Al-Haydos apologized to the Arab and Qatari masses over Qatar lose 3-1 to Senegal on Friday in the second round of group A of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
After the end of the match, Al-Haydos said that the Qatari team wasted 90 minutes in the first match, where the team did not appear with the level that was hopefully anticipated, but it was on time and performed well to score positive result, but unfortunately mistakes were recurrent and the team paid heavy price.
He added that the team fell behind at the end of the first half and then conceded another goal at the beginning of the second half, but he reacted, pressed and created chances, and scored the goal of reducing and striving for adjustment, but the team have exaggerated the rush in the attack skills, which cost accepting the third goal that almost ended the match.
Al-Haydos added that the players did not fail and presented a superb match, and made a great effort, apologizing to the fans for the loss wishing to appear better in the last match and on future occasions as well.
Commenting on whether the preparatory training camp might have negatively affected the team's appearance in the tournament, he said that he does not think so, because the team was ready in terms of all aspects, whether physically or technically, adding that the team played many matches, indicating that it was under heavy pressures after the first match where it did not present the hoped level, and was coming under pressure in the second match looking for compensation, adding that all players were in full readiness.
