Doha, November 23 (QNA) - Germany national team coach Hansi Flick expressed regret over his team's loss today to its Japanese counterpart at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with two goals to one in the first round in the Group E.
After the Germany versus Japan match, Flick told press that the first half was good for them with 78 percent of possession, adding that the Japan players were very effective at the level of performance, so they forced them to defend more and press more, confirming that they could have done better, expressing disappointment for the defeat, adding that the match against Spain next Sunday needs control of the course of the match for the whole 90 minutes.
He highlighted that the German team needs to learn from this match and the players to take more responsibility, saying that it was bad to lose the match, underscoring that they will be ready for the Spain match and will be winners.
He added that this match is going to be analyzed, reiterating that Spain is not like Japan and has a different way of playing, stressing that they are under pressure and need to brave, be more motivated and stronger to win.
Flick valued the Japanese national team and said that they are strong and have special players at the level of performance, concluding that he is not making excuses for today's results. (QNA)
