Doha, November 23 (QNA) - The Portuguese national football team's coach Fernando Santos said that facing the Ghanaian national football team tomorrow is significant, given that it is the team's first match in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as part of the matches of Group H, which also includes Uruguay and South Korea.
In a statement today, Santos added that he has great confidence in his team's players, and that they will show their usual strength and give their best in order to achieve a good start.
The 68-year-old coach indicated that national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo is in a good technical state of readiness and will lead the national team in tomorrow's confrontation.
The Portuguese Coach concluded by stating that everyone is putting a great effort to achieve the desired results, with the team's objective being to make the Portuguese fans happy and proud of their team.
For his part, the Portuguese national team midfielder Bruno Fernandes confirmed his great confidence in his country's ability to achieve victory tomorrow at the expense of Ghana.
Fernandes indicated that his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo did not inform him of his decision to leave Manchester United, explaining that he did not discuss this matter with Cristiano Ronaldo, and that it is imperative to stay focused on being present in the World Cup, pointing out that playing alongside Ronaldo in the same team was a dream for Fernandes. He also added that the state of football is ever changing.
Fernandes concluded his statement by saying that everyone is well aware of the significance of the World Cup, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who is striving to give everything he has to advance the national team. (QNA)
