Doha,November 23 (QNA) - The Qatari film director and supervisor of the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, CEO of Katara Studios Ahmed Al Baker confirmed that the success of the opening ceremony of the tournament came in the culmination of the efforts made by the State of Qatar over 12 years in preparation for hosting this global event.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Baker stressed that the opening ceremony culminated the Qatari achievements, which are per se, a practical response and vivid refutation to the skepticism and smear campaigns unleashed against the capabilities of the State of Qatar and Arab in general of organizing this global event, adding that the presentation of an honorable image for the Qatari and Arab culture came as a result of the confidence of Qatar's leadership in its youth, in addition to the confidence of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in the abilities of the Qatari innovative artists, as well as FIFA's support and the efforts made by the Arab crews and cadres, along with the Qatari and foreign teams.
He indicated that such confidence was the best appreciation for Qatar's efforts and was a catalyst for the innovation and feeling of the significant responsibility vested in Qatar, adding that he is really proud of this accomplishment, which enables him to overcome the challenges, in terms of organization, harmonization and focusing on the vital messages and artistic issues, the most important of which is the conveyance of credible messages to the world from Qatar to keep pace with the ambitions of the current generations, the global masses, in addition to highlighting the Qatari culture and Arab heritage and keeping abreast of the prominent sporting event.
Al Baker pointed out that the decision entails the importance of accompanying the spectators throughout the opening ceremony in a trip of scenes and feelings, starting from geography from the sea to the land and directly to the event scene at Al Bayt Stadium and formulate Qatar's call to the world and the message of co-existence, acquaintance and shared respect.
Supervisor of the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 explained that the elements of this message have flagged up the role of Qatar's beliefs and cultures and confirmed the promotion of values of acquaintance and coexistence, as well as the celebration of the songs of nations through which Qatar has expressed its unity through enthusiasm and positive energy manifested by the football competition, where the ceremony has been an invitation to co-existence and celebration of the masses, along with the states participating in the tournament.
He outlined the efforts made by the contributors in the success of this enormous work which was co-produced by Katara Studios, along with a work team of Qatari, Arab, and foreign producers, indicating that the success that has been made in directing the opening ceremony of the Arab Cup 2021 granted them the trust of responsibility to count on the Qatari cadre, confirming that he is proud of this confidence through which he felt that he had accomplished the required mission in fulfillment of the Arab masses' aspirations.
