Uruguay Coach Confident to Achieve Positive Start against S. Korea Tomorrow

Doha, November 23 (QNA) - Coach of Uruguay national football team Diego Alonso expressed his great confidence that his team will achieve a positive start in its match against South Korea Thursday, its first appearance in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Group H which also include Portugal and Ghana.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Alonso expressed optimism ahead of the match tomorrow, stressing that the his team have reached the required level of readiness after a good period of preparations.

He stressed the keenness on winning tomorrow's competition given its significance as the team's opener game.

Alonso, 47, underlined that Uruguay national team will present strong performance, expressing his great satisfaction with the presence of Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and Darwin Nunez on the front lines, in addition to many distinguished players in the squad.

On his part, Uruguay defender Diego Godin said that the national team is striving to fulfill the dream of the fans in the 22nd edition of the World Cup, and the hopes and dreams are high to achieve victories that qualify the team to go far in the championship rounds.

The player, who appeared in the World Cup four times, indicated that he is fully prepared, and is keen on providing great support for his teammates.
