Doha, November 23 (QNA) - Portuguese Paulo Bento, the coach of the South Korean national football team, described team's match on Thursday against Uruguay in Group H of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as difficult.

At a press conference held today at the tournament's media center at the Qatar National Convention Center, the coach said that the Korean team is ready to play tomorrow's match against the strong Uruguayan team with high quality players, adding: "We will need to be up to our game so that we can be competitive with a team of such quality and experience."

The national team are strong and will play at their best level, Bento added, pointing out that the South Korean team have the ability to play strongly in view of the availability of distinguished players with high technical capabilities and skills that enable them to make a difference in the matches they play.

The South Korean national team prepared well for the tournament and worked in the last period to learn about their competitors in the tournament, he said, indicating that each match will be dealt with separately, given that each has its own circumstances.

He noted that the South Korean national team aspires to achieve victory for the perfect start in the tournament, saying that he doesn't think his players should put any burden on their own shoulders, and that the team will do everything in their power during the first stage matches to qualify for the next round (round of 16) which the South Korean national team had reached twice in the history of their participation.

For his part, South Korean national team player Jung Woo-young said they will play their first match in the tournament tomorrow, and they don't feel intimidated by Uruguay as they know them well and they will play the match with the spirit of one team.

He added Qatar has done an excellent job in preparing for the World Cup, and there are no problems, adding that he is pleased with the quality of the Qatari facilities, which provided them with the best means to compete.

Young also explained that the new technology used in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 for offside is good for all teams and is also good for the game.
