Doha, November 15 (QNA) - The Senegalese national team started its training at the Al Duhail Club stadium, in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will start next Sunday and will last until the eighteenth of December.

The Senegalese national team records its third appearance in the tournament in Group A, which includes the Qatari team, the owner of the land and the fans, along with the teams of Ecuador and the Netherlands.

Coach Aliou Cisse and his players began preparing to enter the competition, waiting for Sadio Mane, star of German Bayern Munich, to join. The national team arrived in Doha yesterday with all the elements, except for Mane, who is receiving treatment for an injury he suffered with his team, Bayern Munich, last week Senegal is betting on its professional and brilliant elements in the European leagues to achieve success, and to erase the fading image in the last appearance during the World Cup Russia 2018, when the team exited the first round, amid great hopes that the current squad that was culminated in the 2021 African Cup and advanced to 18th place in the FIFA classification, in order to bring to mind that beautiful image that is still imprinted in the memory of football fans when El Hadji Diouf's comrades stunned the world's guests in the 2002 World Cup, by reaching the quarter-finals.

The Senegal national team will start its campaign in the tournament against the Netherlands on Nov. 21 at Al Thumama Stadium, before meeting the Qatari team on the 25th of the same month at Al Thumama Stadium as well, and then face Ecuador in the third match on Nov. 29 at Khalifa International Stadium.
