President of Qatar-UK Friendship Association to QNA: Qatar Has Succeeded in Responding to Campaigns Unleashed Against the Country

London,November 13 (QNA) - HE UK Member of Parliament, President of the Qatar-UK Friendship Association Alon Kearns confirmed that the State of Qatar has achieved tremendous success in responding to all campaigns that were unleashed against it, because it is hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) HE Kearns said that every country that hosts a global event such as world cup will indubitably be exposed to questions and put under scrutiny, however, the State of Qatar has responded to all questions with respect to the rights of workers, and the amazing progress it has made in this file, as witnessed by the International Labor Organization (ILO) of the United Nations, His Excellency said, adding that Qatar has responded to all questions in this file through the safety and security measures Qatar has enforced in the work stations of immigrant workers, including the freedom of movement from a company or any other working entity without restrictions, stressing that the detractors must be aware of the evolution scale that has been achieved by Qatar in these files, just as Qatar responded to all these questions.

His Excellency noted that all people should seriously take in consideration the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani delivered before the inaugural second ordinary session of the first legislative term corresponding to the 51th annual session of the Shura Council, where His Highness talked about the unpreceded campaigns targeting the State of Qatar, because it is hosting the tournament, pointing out that hosting the tournament by the Middle East region for the first time, and the organization of this tournament by Qatar, will promote understanding between the different cultures of the Middle East and the West, and converging on their common values, underlining that the tournament represents an opportunity for Qatar to highlight the tremendous progress it has achieved in human rights file as underscored by ILO in its reports that lauded Qatar and considered it a pioneering state in this file.

With regard to the advices offered by the UK government to the English fans to respect the customs and traditions during their stay in Qatar to attend the football matches, HE UK Member of Parliament, President of the Qatar-UK Friendship Association said that every single person who travels to a certain country should respect its customs and traditions, and all travelers should respect the religious customs and feelings of this country and comprehend that well, adding that the tournament is a joyous occasion, therefore, English and Welsh fans should support their national teams enthusiastically, but at the same time they should respect the traditions and customs of Qatar, just like Qatar's understanding of the traditions of the fans who travel to this country.

In his concluding remarks to QNA, His Excellency talked about UK's contributions to supporting Qatar's efforts in organizing the tournament, indicating that his country will offer great support to Qatar in the organization process of the tournament.
