Seoul, November 11 (QNA) - The South Korean national football team defeated Iceland in a friendly match today, in a test that is the last for the Korean team before its participation in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is scheduled from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18.
Song Min-kyu scored the match's only goal in the 33rd minute, it is his first international goal for his country.
The Portuguese coach, Paulo Bento, will announce Saturday the final list that will participate in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The South Korean team will play in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Group H, as it begins its campaign in the finals against Uruguay on Nov. 24, then the team meets Ghana on Nov. 28, while the last match in the first round will be against Portugal on Dec.2.
This is the 11th time that South Korea has participated in the World Cup finals, and recorded its best results when it reached the semi-finals in 2002 World Cup, the version it co-hosted with Japan. (QNA)
