Doha, October 21 (QNA) - With under a month to go before the big kick-off of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) met with fans in Argentina and Mexico to help them finalize their trips to Qatar for the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world.
Hundreds of fans attended events in Buenos Aires and Mexico City which provided an important opportunity to learn about key topics related to the tournament, including tickets, accommodation, the mandatory Hayya Card, entertainment and transport.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Mexican States Mohammed Al Kuwari, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Argentine Republic Battal bin Meajeb Al Dosari. FIFA World Cup Ambassador Luis Hernandez also attended the fan event in Mexico City.
"These events help to build excitement and answer any questions fans may have ahead of their visit to Qatar," said the SCs Director of Corporate Communications Najwa Al-Thani. "It was wonderful to meet fans from both Argentina and Mexico they are all incredibly excited to visit Qatar and sample the unique World Cup our country will host. We thank the Qatari missions in both countries for their support in organizing these events." "It was a great pleasure to meet fans in Argentina and Mexico with the tournament just around the corner," said the SCs Director of Fan Engagement Ahsan Mansoor. "These two countries have some of the most passionate and committed fans in the world and we cannot wait to see them showcase their love for the game at our amazing stadiums and entertainment areas." Also present were members of the SCs Fan Leader Network a community of 400 fans and influencers from 60 countries. Group members have contributed to tournament planning through fan insight, research, content creation and message amplification, with a number attending milestone events in the lead-up to the World Cup.
With Argentina and Mexico drawn in Group C - along with Saudi and Poland, fans of both teams are already preparing their match days around Lusail Stadium and Stadium 974. The nations will go head-to-head on Nov. 26 at the 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium. (QNA)
