Doha, October 10 (QNA) - Several diplomatic missions of the State of Qatar organized various events abroad to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In Berne, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Swiss Confederation held a reception in the framework of promoting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, with the participation of a large number of officials, lawmakers, media professionals and athletes, in addition to representatives of the FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), Their Excellencies heads of diplomatic missions and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Switzerland, particularly whose teams will participate in the championship.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Swiss Confederation Mohamed bin Jaham Al Kuwari delivered a speech at the ceremony, stressing the role that football plays in building bridges of communication among different peoples and cultures.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Turkey also organized a promotional event in Ankara.

The event was attended by HE Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Kasapoglu, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Turkey Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, and a number of officials, heads and representatives of the Arab diplomatic corps accredited to Turkey.
The event included various sports activities and other activities in honor of orphans.

In a speech on this occasion, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Turkey expressed his pride in hosting the championship and stressed that this occasion does not concern the State of Qatar alone, but football fans worldwide.

His Excellency pointed out that Qatar's hosting of the tournament is the first in the Middle East and promised that the world would see Qatar organizing a distinguished World Cup.

His Excellency noted that the activities and events organized by the embassy are part of the promotion of the tournament, inviting the Turkish people to visit the State of Qatar and enjoy attending this historic event.

Also, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines held a party in the City of Mandaluyong, within the framework of promoting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The event was attended by HE Vice President and Secretary of Education of the Republic of the Philippines Sara Duterte, HE Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Benjamin Abalos Jr., HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines, Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki, Mandaluyong Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr., and other officials, along with a large crowd of the city's residents.

During the ceremony, officials delivered speeches and handed out souvenirs to school students in Mandaluyong. Also, various musical shows were presented. (QNA)
