Doha, September 08 (QNA) - HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali held an official session of talks at the Amiri Diwan Tuesday morning.
At the beginning of the session, HH the Amir welcomed HE the President and the accompanying delegation, wishing the relations between the two countries further development and growth, and expressing his aspiration that this visit would contribute to expanding the horizons of joint cooperation to serve the interests of both countries.
For his part, HE the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, affirming his country's keenness to strengthen cooperative relations and elevate them towards further development and growth.
During the session, the two sides discussed relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, particularly in the investment fields, in addition to discussing a number of topics of common interest.
HH the Amir and HE the President also held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on prominent current issues and developments.
The session was attended by HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi; HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi; HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi; and a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials.
On the side of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, the session was attended by HE Presidential Assistant and Personal Representative of HE the President and Minister Responsible for South Europe, the Middle East and Africa George Andrew Hallaq; HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hugh Todd; HE Director of Presidential Affairs at the Office of HE the President Marcia Nadir-Sharma; and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation.
HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HE the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the accompanying delegation.
Earlier today, HE the President of Guyana arrived at the Amiri Diwan, where an official reception ceremony was held for His Excellency. (QNA)
