Doha, September 30 (QNA) - Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), concluded the seventh and largest edition of Career Village, the largest interactive career exploration event in the country.
It was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labor, and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
The three-day event, hosted by KidZania Doha, welcomed more than 3,240 male and female students from 160 public, private, and international schools, in addition to 40 public and private sector organizations representing 13 economic sectors central to Qatar's development.
The event enabled more than 230 academic and career counselors and educators to exchange insights with representatives from participating sectors and learn about career guidance, training, volunteering, and job-shadowing programs that support efforts to guide students and help them explore their future career options.
Executive Director of QCDC, Saad Abdulla Al Kharji, said firsthand experience helps students understand their career interests and the requirements of professions that appeal to them, noting that partnerships with government entities and employers help connect students' aspirations with the country's need for skilled professionals and enable them to learn about future opportunities available to them.
Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Ibrahim Abdullah Al Muhannadi, said Career Village provides students with practical opportunities to explore different workplace environments, stressing the Ministry's commitment to aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs and the country's development priorities in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Director of Civil Service Affairs at the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau Yaqoub Saleh Al Ishaq said that preparing national talent starts early by supporting students in making academic and career choices based on their abilities and government workforce needs.
He noted that the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau's participation as a strategic partner reflects its approach to linking study choices to scholarship plans and the country's current and future employment needs. (QNA)
