Qatar Discusses Experience in Housing System in Fourth Gulf Housing Week
Manama, September 30 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in a ministerial panel discussion on the future of national housing, held during the Fourth Gulf Housing Week in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The State of Qatar was represented at the session by HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.
During the session, Her Excellency highlighted aspects of the State of Qatar's experience in developing its housing system and its efforts to enhance the efficiency of housing services, as well as leveraging digital transformation and innovative solutions to streamline procedures and improve services provided to citizens.
She also addressed the importance of integrating sustainability and quality-of-life concepts into housing policies, strengthening strategic partnerships and coordination among relevant entities, and anticipating the sector's future needs in support of building integrated and sustainable residential communities centered on the needs of citizens and families.
The session provided an opportunity for ministers responsible for housing affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to exchange views and experiences on the future of housing policies and the most prominent innovative solutions and practices that could be implemented across GCC countries.
Her Excellency also participated in a panel discussion for senior housing officials. During the session, Her Excellency highlighted aspects of Qatar's experience and approach in the housing sector, the importance of strengthening integration between housing policies and various related sectors, and the use of innovation and modern technologies to develop housing services and enhance their efficiency.
As part of the events accompanying the Fourth Gulf Housing Week, the Ministry participated in the Social Housing Innovation Conference, which brought together a number of officials, experts, specialists and entities involved in the housing sector. The conference discussed a range of topics related to innovation in housing and reviewed current approaches, solutions and practices for developing housing policies and services, alongside the exchange of experiences and expertise among participating entities.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family also participated in the exhibition accompanying the Fourth Gulf Housing Week through a dedicated Qatar pavilion, alongside pavilions representing other GCC countries. The pavilion showcased Qatar's experience in housing and highlighted key programs, services and practices reflecting the development of the country's housing system and the services provided to citizens.
The Fourth Gulf Housing Week concluded with a ceremony honoring the winners of the seventh edition of the GCC Housing Award and the winners of the third edition of the Gulf Housing Hackathon.
During the ceremony, Qatar Charity was honored in the nonprofit organizations category in recognition of its contributions and distinguished initiatives in the housing sector in Qatar, as well as its efforts and projects supporting social and charitable causes and promoting family and community stability.
